The switchboard
A dedicated circuit with its own RCBO, sized for the charger and the supply. Not shared with anything else, because a charger drawing full current for hours is not like a powerpoint.
A real price before you ring anyone. Four questions about your supply, your solar and how far the charger sits from the switchboard, and the estimator gives you the installed figure including GST - the same one we would quote in the office.
No form, no call-back, no "from" price hiding a catch. This is the estimator we price jobs with, so what you see here is what we would quote.

Cable and surface conduit from the board to the charger, clipped and made good. Priced by the metre for the run you actually have, not a flat allowance that is wrong both ways.
Mounted, terminated, current limit set for your supply, commissioned and tested. Then the certificate of compliance, and the site left clean.
Whether a charger can genuinely use your solar, whether your car can take three phase, and whether your switchboard has room - those three answers decide the right unit. The estimator applies them for you: if you tell it you have solar, it will not offer a charger that cannot divert it.
Read the common questions →Real figures, installed and including GST - the same ones the estimator above produces.
A single-phase home charger supplied and installed is $1,653 including GST, based on a 10 metre run from the switchboard. Installing a charger you already own starts at $893. Three-phase is $2,032, and a solar-diverting charger is $2,163. Use the estimator on this page for your exact figure - four questions, no form.
A dedicated circuit and RCBO in the switchboard, cable and surface conduit along the run clipped and made good, the charger mounted and terminated with its current limit set, commissioning, electrical testing, a certificate of compliance and cleanup. A straightforward single-phase install is about 4.5 hours on site.
No. Most Sydney homes are single phase, and a 7.4kW single-phase charger adds roughly 35 to 50 kilometres of range an hour - far more than an overnight charge needs for normal driving. Three phase allows up to 22kW, but only if your car can accept it, and many cannot. We check your supply before anything is ordered.
Only if the charger genuinely diverts excess solar, and not every charger does despite the marketing. We only offer solar-capable chargers to customers who have solar - the estimator on this page will not show you one that cannot do it. A solar-diverting single-phase install is $2,163 including GST.
Yes, and it should. Cable and conduit are priced by the metre and a longer run is genuinely more work. The estimator asks how far the charger is from the board and prices the run accordingly, rather than quoting one figure and adjusting it on the day.
Usually not. What matters is whether there is a spare position for the new circuit protection. If there is not, creating space adds $150 to $400, confirmed with you before we proceed. If the board needs more than that, you hear about it before any work starts.
Yes. Installation of a customer-supplied charger starts at $893 including GST. We confirm the unit is suitable and compliant before we begin - if it is not, we tell you before it goes on the wall rather than after.
It is cheapest on the day, because the switchboard is already open and it is one visit rather than a call-out of its own. $397 including GST on single phase, $638 on three phase. It protects everything on the board while it is there, and the onboard charger in the car is the expensive part.
We supply Ocular, Zappi, Tesla, Evnex, Ohme, Wallbox, GoodWe and FoxESS, and we will install a charger you have bought yourself. Which one we recommend depends on your supply and whether you have solar, not on what we happen to have in the van.
About 4.5 hours on site for a straightforward single-phase install with a 10 metre run. Longer runs and three-phase supplies take more, and the estimator shows the hours for your job alongside the price.
